Kenneth M. Roepker, 78, of Lexington, Nebraska, formerly of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington, Nebraska. He was born April 2, 1931, at St. Libory, Nebraska to Antone and Johanna (Grotz) Roepker. He attended school at St. Libory Catholic School. Kenneth was united in marriage to Beverly Burnett on October 24, 1951, in Grand Island. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Michael, David, Susan and Cheryl. Kenneth and Beverly lived in Grand Island until 1976, when they moved to Gosper County near Elwood. He was a self-employed carpenter and then worked at Monroes in Cozad as a machinist. Kenneth was a member of the Eagles Club in Grand Island. Survivors include his two sons: Michael Roepker of Spokane, Washington David and wife Vicky Roepker of Meridian, Idaho Two daughters: Susan and husband Mark Johnson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma Cheryl and husband Peter Anderson Renton, Washington One Brother Alfred Roepker of St. Libory, Nebraska One Sister Marie and husband Bernard Faber of Holstein, Nebraska Eight grandchildren, Meghan Roepker, John Benson, Wendy Crocker, Kirk Johnson, Melissa Anderson, Crystal Weast, Nicole Flores and Chad Roepker, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Faile Benson; Cy, Kiana & Maya Johnson; Caden Crocker; Justin Anderson, Sarah Stewart, Alyssa, Caleb & Owen Weast; Melody, Hailey & McKenzie Flores. Numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly in 1995, one sister Genevieve and one brother, Arnold. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington.
