Paul Louis Wagner, 93, of Omaha, Nebraska, died Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was born October 18, 1916 near Clearfield, South Dakota to Alexander and Katherine (Frihauf) Wagner.
As a young man he graduated from North Central Bible College and traveled with Charles Blair and Carlyle Beebe holding evangelistic meetings. In 1942 he married Frances King and together they pastored Assembly of God churches in Oxford, Broken Bow, Big Springs and Oshkosh, Nebraska and Brush and Wray, Colorado.
They retired to Lexington, Nebraska in 1982. While living there, they did short term mission trips to Brussels, Belgium; Osijek, Croatia; and Alaska. Frances passed away in 1994.
Paul moved to Omaha in 2005 to be closer to his family living there.
Survivors include two daughters: Jeanette (Curt) Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska
Joan (Dave) Ostrand of Omaha, Nebraska
One sister: Lorraine Vosika of Wyoming
Four grandchildren: Kristin (Brad) Klaassen, David Anderson, Karl (Julie) Ostrand and Sheree (Eric) Gayer.
Eight great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Liam, and Elena Klaassen; Jackson and Nolan Gayer; Jensen and Emerson Ostrand and Brinn Anderson.
Paul was preceded in death by Russian German immigrant parents, Alexander and Katherine Wagner; nine sisters, Amelia, Elizabeth, Sophie, Leah, Emma, Freda, Marie, Alice, Alma and one brother, Darrell.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 3, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Joe Masten and Reverend James Crandall officiating.
Burial will be in the Elm Creek Cemetery at Elm Creek, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, one hour prior to the service.
Memorials are suggested to Calvary Assembly of God Church for the Madagascar Mission Project.
