Ray I. Wolfe, Jr. 59, of Lexington died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at his home in Lexington.
He was born September 12, 1950, at North Platte, Nebraska to Ray, Sr. and Janice (Masur) Wolfe.
Ray moved with his family to the Denver, Colorado area in the early 1960’s and graduated in 1968 from Commerce City High School in Commerce City, Colorado.
He then went on to serve his Country in the United States Army from March 12, 1969 until he was honorably discharged on January 13, 1972.
He returned to Nebraska and to the Lexington area in the early 1980’s. He was united in marriage to Kristy Albrecht on May 12, 2001, in Lexington.
Ray was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He worked in Processing at Tyson Fresh Meats until his illness forced him to retire.
His hobbies included being with his family, especially his grandchildren and working in the yard. He was a “gentle giant, firm in his convictions, but also very soft hearted. He will be so very missed.

Three brothers: George & Annette Wolfe of Eustis, Nebraska
Greg & Deanna Wolfe of Eddyville, Nebraska
Tom & Barb Wolfe of Cozad, Nebraska
Two sisters: Amelia “Millie” & Robert Speck of Omaha, Nebraska
Susan Anderson of Eddyville, Nebraska
Nine grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother and daughter, Nicole.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling officiating.
Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Full Military Honors.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009, from 4-6 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Wake Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
