Doris Marie Else

Doris Marie Else, 82, of Overton, Nebraska, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Kearney St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Village in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born June 10, 1927 at Edna, Kansas to Charles and Pearl (Nelson) Wolfe. She moved to Nebraska in the early 1950’s, and worked at a Dairy north of Elm Creek. It was at this time she met Warren Else and they were united in marriage on October 19, 1952, at Elm Creek. Eight children were blessed to this marriage; Rosella, Warren & Wayne who were twins, but Wayne died as an infant, Timothy, Mary, David, Jane and Irene. Doris worked in the Dietary Department at Good Samaritan Hospital and was a cook and dishwasher for Plainview Café and Golden Corral Café. She also helped on the farm and after the death of Warren in 1974, she was left to raise her large family on her own. She so enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Doris had a strong faith in God and strong family values. She enjoyed raising flowers and going to garage sales. She will be so missed by her loving family. Survivors include three sons: Warren D. Else of Overton, Nebraska Timothy E. Else of Kearney, Nebraska David J. (Mary) Else of Overton, Nebraska Four daughters: Rosella J. (Clyde) Vance of Lexington, Nebrask Mary R. Else of Elm Creek, Nebraska Jane M. (Rod) Noah of Elm Creek, Nebraska Irene Else of Overton, Nebraska One brother: Charles (Nel) Wolfe of Harrah, Oklahoma Nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren in 1974: infant son, Wayne; five sisters, Ruth, Ethel, Lela, Lillian and a sister in infancy and one brother, John. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 16, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Overton Methodist Church in Overton, Nebraska with Reverend Katherine Bullard officiating and Pastor Christian Mattison officiating. Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery at Overton. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
