Carl E. Engler, 75, of Cozad, Nebraska, died Monday, October 19, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Cozad.
He was born on September 10, 1934, at Lexington, Nebraska to Carl and Edith (Pickerell) Engler.
Carl grew up in the Lexington area and worked with his family at the Lexington City Landfill. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Dixon in Pierre, South Dakota. To this union one daughter was born. He then married Judy Spencer and to this union four children were born.
While living in Cozad Carl was a Chopper operator at the Hay Mill, he also drove a feed truck for David Haram and was a Security Guard at Monroe Auto in Cozad.
Carl had many hobbies, which included hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons: Carl, III (Deb) Engler of Cozad, Nebraska
Kevin Engler of Hastings, Nebraska
Three daughters: Deb (Dave) Hixson of Sidney, Nebraska
Ruby Engler of Pueblo, Colorado
Kelly (Steve) Smith of West Virginia
One sister: Lorraine
Eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Numerous nieces & nephews
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bill and one niece.
It was Carl’s wishes his body be cremated and there will be no visitation.
Memorial Services will be Friday, October 23, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
