Georganna Griffith, 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, formerly of Cozad, Nebraska, died Friday, August 04, 2017, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington. She was born Decemeber 25, 1929, in Garfield County, Nebraska, to George Francis and Eliza Jane (Maret) Wolf. Georganna attended grade school in Springfield, Missouri, and then moved to Cozad, Nebraska, where she graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1948. She then went on to further her education at the Kearney State College. Georganna was married in September of 1949, to LaVern Griffith in Washington D.C. Four children were blessed to this union: Deb, Marcia, Phillip and Paul. They would later divorce. Georganna lived in Cozad, Nebraska where she was a Nurse’s Aide, and then went to the Cozad Police Department where she was an Officer and dispatcher. She then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and worked for the State Patrol. Georganna then spent the next twenty plus years working as a Driver’s License Examiner. She retired in 1993, and moved to Heber Springs, Arkansas for the next twenty years. Georganna moved to Cabondale, Colorado to be closer to family, and then to Nebraska where she resided until her passing. Georganna always enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She liked bird watching, planting flowers and traveling. She loved her dog Benji. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include her children, Deb (Earl) Linn of Overton, Nebraska, Marcia (John) Harnly of Denton, Texas, Phillip (Ramona) Griffith of Carbondale, Colorado & Paul (Teresa) Griffith of Onawa, Iowa; twelve grandchildren, Lisa Enochs, Troy Linn, Mandi Wallace, Jennifer Dunseith, Jason Harnly, Jocelyn Fowler, Caleb Griffith, Claire Ann Erickson, Casey Griffith, Joshua Griffith, Brent Griffith & Adam Griffith; twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. It was Georganna’s wishes for cremation. The family has honored those wishes. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor John Shields, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sumner Cemetery in Sumner. Memorials are suggested to Parkinson’s Research or Wounded Warriors.
