Clarice M. Bamrick

Clarice M. Bamrick, 88, of Overton, Nebraska, died Friday, July 28, 2017, at Christian Homes in Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born October 22, 1928, in Holdrege, Nebraska to Quince C. and Mayme E. (Blackman) Eby. Clarice lived in Elwood when she was a young girl, and moved to Overton when she was in the 3rd grade. She graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1947. On October 15, 1949, she married Robert Bamrick in Kearney, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Rodney D., Karen M., and Robert L. Clarice worked for two years at the Lexington Mill, and then helped Bob on the farm until retiring. She was a faithful, and active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton, where she was a member of the Altar Society, and a former extension club member. She served as treasurer and board member for the Overton Community Center, and spent many years on the Election Board. Clarice enjoyed bowling and reading, but time spent with family was something she loved the most. Survivors include one son; Bob and wife Nancy Bamrick of Overton, Nebraska; son-in-law, Lee Shafer of Overton, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Niki and husband Eric Altwine of Bertrand, Nebraska, Kody and wife Jenny Shafer of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brady and wife Natalei Shafer of Denver, Colorado, Colt and wife Katie Shafer of Grand Island, Nebraska, Chris and wife Gwen Christner of Kearney, Nebraska, and Justin and wife Kari Christner of Lincoln, Nebraska; twelve great-grandchildren, Bayley Bamrick, Kaden & Claire Shafer, Beckham & Lucas Shafer, Dylan White, Allie & Jessie Altwine, Austin, Brant & Jenna Christner, and Sam Christner; one brother, Verle and wife Ellen Eby of Overton, Nebraska; two sisters, Bernece and husband Leo Mazanec of Columbia, Missouri, and Geraldine Vollmer of Lexington, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son and daughter-in-law, Rod and Dianna (Nelson) Bamrick; daughter, Karen Shafer; five brothers, Gaylord, Floyd, Richard, Lonnie & Donald Eby; and one grandson, Patrick Bamrick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton with Father Alex Borzych celebrating. Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 31, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
