Steven Anthony Brummet, 35, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017, as the result of a tragic truck accident near Whitman, Nebraska.
He was born July 22, 1981, in Junction City, Kansas to Jeffrey West and Nancy Ann (Hill) Brummet.
Steve grew up in Lexington where he attended school, graduating from Lexington High School with the class of 2000. He was always active in his church, Boy Scouts, and was honored to attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
Steve was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington where he was in charge of the Sunday worship sound system each week. His daughter, Angel was always by his side.
He joined the United States Army after graduating high school. Following the service he drove truck. At the time of his death he was driving for Darling International.
Steve loved hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, being with his daughter, and the family. He was a big ole’ teddy bear who always gave the best hugs, and had the biggest smile ever. He’s going to be so missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his daughter, Angel Brummet of Lexington, Nebraska; his parents of Lexington, Nebraska; his grandmother, Althea Hill of Cozad, Nebraska; aunts & uncles; Scott (Cheryl) Brown of Lexington, Nebraska, Bryan (Deborah) Brummet of Rapid City, South Dakota, Michelle Martinez of Grand Island, Nebraska, Michael Hill of Cozad, Nebraska, and Deb (Simon) Rangel of Cozad, Nebraska; also surviving are numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Joshua Stibb officiating. The casket will be closed.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers please, should be given to the family for Angel’s Education Fund.
Burial with Military Honors will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington, Nebraska.
