Betty Jane Clark, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington.
She was born March 9, 1928, in Rural Lexington, Nebraska, to Adolf and Henny (Seehusen) Rickertsen.
Betty attended school in Lexington and graduated with the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Roy Clark on June 8, 1946. Five girls were blessed to this union; Nancy, Karen, Susan, Judy and Tammy. Once the girls were old enough and in school, Betty took a job at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. She worked many years at the church and also enjoyed helping with the youth group. After she retired from the church she went to work at Sav-A-Lot which she enjoyed. Betty also kept busy babysitting grandchildren.
Betty enjoyed being outdoors. She liked keeping up her yard and growing tomatoes in her garden. She also enjoyed camping and fishing in her younger years. She was a very good bowler and softball player. The most important thing to Betty was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Betty was also a 13 gallon blood donor.
Betty is survived by her husband; Roy Clark of Lexington, Nebraska; five daughers, Nancy (Rich) Lindeman of Cozad, Nebraska, Karen (Frank) Loomer of Columbus, Nebraska, Susan (Chick) DeMoss of Lincoln, Nebraska, Judy (August) Daake of Lexington, Nebraska and Tammy (Scott) Bennett of Lincoln, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Henry, Chris, Carl and Bill; three sisters, Elsie Biehl, Anna Hilton and Frieda Cline.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Reverend Polly Deppen-Williams, officiating.
It was Betty’s wishes for cremation, there will be no visitation.
Private family inurnment will be held prior to the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested, in lieu of flowers please, to First Presbyterian Church or Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
