C. LeArdis Frerichs, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Cozad Care and Rehabilitation in Cozad. She was born July 10, 1927, in Danbury, Nebraska, to Clarence and Anna (Farber) Keith. LeArdis grew up in the Danbury area where she attended school and graduated from Danbury High School with the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Elmer Frerichs on April 15, 1953, in Newport, Rhode Island, while he was on leave from the Navy. The couple lived in McCook, Nebraska until moving to Lexington in 1964. LeArdis loved to cook. She spent most of her working years cooking for Parkway, and Norm’s Café. She also loved children, and babysat a lot of her grandchildren throughout the years, as well as the neighborhood children. She loved her flower gardens, sewing, canning, and watching birds was one of her favorite passions. She also always had a cheerful smile, and loved having visitors. Survivors include her children; Richard Frerichs of Elwood, Nebraska, Robert (Deb) Frerichs of Eaton, Colorado, Doreen (Jack) Phillips of Sterling, Colorado, Janice (Kevin) Cassels of Marietta, Oklahoma, Anna Marie (Ed) Yeutter of Lexington, Nebraska; one brother, Jimmy (Janine) Keith of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters; Clara “Noreen” Jumps of McCook, Nebraska, LeVerna Petersen of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Anita (Ed) Surber of Bainbridge, Indiana; two brothers-in-law; Emery Kathka of McCook, Nebraska, and Howard Kenfield of Ogallala, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, two step-grandsons, nineteen great-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. LeArdis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in 2007; son, Billy Jo; sisters, Glenva Kenfield, Jackqueline Miller, and Delores Kathke; one brother, Norman Keith, as well as two infant brothers, and one infant sister; one step-grandson, Zacharyah Webb; and her bestfriend, Sarah Riebschlager. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 15, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
