Mary Eleanor Ramirez

Mary E. Ramirez, 80, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. Mary was born April 27, 1929, at Gibbon, Nebraska to Marcelino and Marcelina Ramirez. Mary moved to Lexington as a young girl where she attended school. Following school she took in laundry, cleaned homes and worked in the fields. She then went to work at Westside Care Home taking care of the residents for over 25 years. Mary loved gardening and roses were her passion. She was an avid quilter and made baby quilts for all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing embroidery work, but mostly she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her new great-great-granddaughter. She will be very missed. Survivors include her two daughters: LaRae Ortiz of Lexington, Nebraska Semona Robinson of Lexington, Nebraska Three grandchildren: Melanie Grube of Kearney, Nebraska Joseph Robinson of Lexington, Nebraska Tina Pawloski of San Diego, California Three great-grandchildren: Lacey Saulsbury of Omaha, Nebraska; Trevor and Trey Grube of Kearney, Nebraska. One great-great-granddaughter: Amiya Saulsbury of Omaha, Nebraska Two brothers: Pete and Jerry Ramirez of Oregon Two sisters: Toni & Paul Norden of Lexington, Nebraska Marge & Merle Palmberg of St. Paul, Nebraska Mary was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jessie, one nephew, Mark and three infant sons. The family has honored Mary’s wishes that her body be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 18, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Paul Colling officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be held privately at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
