Maxine R. Snurr, 85, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at CHI Good Samaritan-Kearney She was born May 7, 1931 in Elwood, Nebraska to Ernest and Louise (Stagemeyer) Schutz. Maxine grew up southwest of Elwood and attended school in the Elwood area. On March 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to Clarence R. Snurr at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. Clarence preceded her in death on April 27, 2010. She worked for over thirty years at the Lexington Community Hospital, and later at Tri-County Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. Survivors include: One son Bradley & wife Deanna Snurr of Sedalia, Missouri; three brothers: Eugene and Carol Schutz of Cozad, Nebraska, Herbert and Joan Schutz of Oregon, and Wayne and Ila Schutz of Cambridge, Nebraska; two sisters Marlene and William Knoerzer of Elwood, Nebraska, and Evelyn Wegener of Norton, Kansas; as well as four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Lorie; two brothers, Merlin and Irvin, and one sister, Eleanore. Memorial Graveside Inurnment services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery southwest Of Elwood, Nebraska with Pastor Rob Kuefner, officiating.
