Michael F. “Butch” Hernandez, 72, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community.
He was born October 1, 1944, in Kearney, Nebraska, to John G. and Lydia (Michel) Hernandez. He attended school at Lexington.
Butch loved being outdoors and spent his entire career mowing lawns around the Lexington area working for Fred Hongsermeier. He enjoyed visiting with people, and will be so very missed.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include two brothers; Tom and wife Emily Hernandez of Kearney, Nebraska, and Joe and wife Angie Hernandez of Lexington, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Jerry, and John; and three sisters, Paula, Delores, and Josephine.
It was Michael’s wishes his body be cremated. The family has honored those wishes. There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 2, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez officiating.
Inurnment will be in the St. Ann’s Cemetery at Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
