Nancy Ann Loose

July 23, 1955 — February 18, 2017

Nancy A. Loose, 61, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at home, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born July 23, 1955, in Lexington, Nebraska, to James and Fern (Breeden) Dodd. She attended school in Lexington, graduating from Lexington High School with the class of 1973. Nancy was united in marriage to Vic Loose on May, 30, 1975, at the Chapel of the Lake near Johnson Lake, Nebraska. Three boys were blessed to this marriage; Nate, Cale, and Gage. These boys, including Vic, were the loves of her life. She lived for her kids. As they grew up she was involved in the PTA, was a room mother, and never missed an activity they were involved in. Nancy was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school. Her other loves were flowers, reading, movies, cooking, baking, and was a collector of “stuff”. She enjoyed going to the casino with her friends, and spending time with them whenever possible. She held various jobs throughout the years; her latest jobs included working at Elwood Care Center, Walmart, and Plum Creek Market Place for a time. Nancy was a kind person, always wanting people to be happy, always had a smile on her face, and was involved in Dawson County Relay for Life even before she was stricken with cancer. She always wanted to help wherever possible. She will be truly missed. Survivors include her husband; Vic Loose of Lexington; sons; Nate (Stacey) Loose of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cale Loose of Lexington, Nebraska, and Gage (Amanda) Loose of Lexington, Nebraska; two brothers; Steven (Jennifer) Dodd of Ferndale, Washington, and Stan (Georgianna) Dodd of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren; Kyra & Riley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; aunt; Bonnie (Steve) Pfister of Lexington, Nebraska; also surviving are extended family members, and many dear friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. It was Nancy’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Polly Deppen-Williams officiating. The family will be receiving friends prior to the Memorial service on Saturday morning from 10 until the time of the service. Memorials are suggested to Dawson County Relay for Life.
