Lana Kay Maring

Lana Kay Maring, 64, of Overton, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home. She was born July 10, 1953, in Kenesaw, Nebraska, to Raymond and Devona Darlene (Pierson) Peet. She attended school in Kenesaw and then started working at the Nursing Home in Kenesaw. She would go on to receive her GED. In August of 1985, Lana married William Richard “Rick” Stwalley, Jr., while living in Kansas City. The couple then resided in Overton, Nebraska, where they both worked at Plectron. She would also be a caretaker for two women in Cozad for many years. Rick passed away on August 12, 2005. She found love again and married Ray Maring. They would later divorce, but stayed close friends and Ray cared for her until her death. Lana was preceded in death by her parents and husband Rick. It was Lana’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
