Wesley Ray "Bill" Heusman

Wesley Ray “Bill” Heusman, 81, of Callaway, Nebraska, died Sunday, December 25, 2016, at his home. Bill was born May 8, 1935, in Adams, Nebraska, to Rudolph & Tressa (Topp) Heusman. He was baptized at the Pella Reformed Church in Adams, Nebraska. Bill graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 1954. In 1954, Bill enlisted in the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1956. Bill was united in marriage to Mary Martha Rulla on July 1, 1957 in Underwood, Iowa. Five children were blessed to this union: Tammie, Tom, Tim, Teresa & TiAnn. They lived in Southeast Nebraska from 1956 to 1975 where Bill was a Crane Operator with Kingery Construction. In 1975 they moved to Eddyville, Nebraska to farm and ranch. They moved to Callaway, Nebraska in 2012. Bill enjoyed being on the farm more than anything. He also enjoyed antique cars, playing cribbage, hunting and telling stories. Bill had a way of connecting with people and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Heusman of Callaway, Nebraska; four children, Tammie (Steve) Rempe of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tim Heusman of Eddyville, Nebraska, Teresa (Greg) Ibach of Sumner, Nebraska & TiAnn (Tom) Allen of Firth, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Becki Heusman of Alliance, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren, Elizabeth Murray of Frederick, Colorado, Daniel Rempe of Westminster, Colorado, Jeremiah Heusman of Alliance, Nebraska, Jedidiah Heusman of Sumner, Nebraska, Jessica Heusman of Alliance, Nebraska, Heidi Heusman of Baltimore, Maryland, Savannah Coleman of Lincoln, Nebraska, Evan Ibach of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Emily Ibach of Denver, Colorado, Alec Ibach of Kearney, Nebraska, Roger Allen of Manhattan, Kansas & Mackenzie Allen of Firth, Nebraska; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Ivan "Ike" Heusman of Sterling, Nebraska; three sisters, Dorothy Upton of Lincoln, Nebraska, Sylvia Heusman of California & Twila Wusk of Sterling, Nebraska. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom; Grandsons, Zachary & Lucas; sisters, Mildred, Rosie, Hazel & Ruth. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Oconto Community Center with Pastor Ken Hutson & Fred Werkmeister, PMA, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway.
