Margaret E. Lane, 60, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at her home in Lexington. She was born July 21, 1956, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Dean E. and Delores E. (Brisbin) Potter. Margaret was a 1974 graduate of Gothenburg High School. She then moved to Georgia where she met and married Harvey Lane. The couple married December 30, 1980, in Macon, Georgia. Margaret, while in Georgia, worked at YKK Zipper. The couple moved to Lexington in 1995. She worked at Dotty’s Diner and Walmart. Margaret was a wonderful seamstress. She also loved making jewelry, crocheting, and photography. She loved kids, especially her nieces and nephews. Animals held a special place in her heart, and her laugh was like no other. It was a wonderful melody to Harvey who enjoyed making her laugh. She also loved reading and studying her Bible. She was a member of LexChristian Church in Lexington. Survivors include her husband of almost 36 years, Harvey of Lexington, Nebraska; two brothers, Scott Potter of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Shawn Potter of Louisville, Kentucky; three local aunts, Shirley (Kenny) Schwarz of Elwood, Nebraska, Cindy (Jan) Lienemann of Gibbon, Nebraska, and Rita Boyer of Kearney, Nebraska; uncle, Doug Boyer of Starville, Mississippi; as well as other aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and uncle, Butch. Margaret’s body will be cremated. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor Daniel Sauer officiating. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery east of Lexington at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
