Howard I. Brown

Howard I. Brown, 90, of rural Loomis, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016, at his home. He was born March 17, 1926, in Lexington, Nebraska, the only child to Alvie and Viola (Sherman) Brown. He attended school in Lexington. Following his schooling he farmed with his dad. Howard was united in marriage to Betty Brandorff on February 23, 1947, in Lexington. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Bob, Larry, and Lisa. The family lived on a farm east of Lexington. He continued to live there until his health forced him to move to his son’s home in between Loomis and Holdrege in September of 2011. Howard was a member of LexChristian Church, and a former member of Fairhaven Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to the Grand Generation Center, where he played pool with his buddies, and also traveled playing pool to surrounding towns. He also enjoyed woodworking, being with family, and sharing his great sense of humor. Survivors include his children; Bob Brown of Lexington, Nebraska, Larry (Cindy) Brown of Loomis, Nebraska, and Lisa Juel of Oconto, Nebraska; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; daughter-in-law, Ann Brown; one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson, and son-in-law, Allan Juel. Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at LexChristian Church with Pastor Daniel Sauer officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
