Millicent “Ann” Andersen, 83, of Papillion, Nebraska, former rural Lexington resident, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Hillcrest Country Estates in Papillion. Ann was born August 25, 1933, in Lexington, Nebraska, daughter of Arthur and Millicent (White) Kopf. She attended the Reed school and school district #59 through eighth grade. She went on to Lexington graduating with the class of 1951. She attended Kearney Teachers College and then taught at the Reed school for one year. Ann married Paul Anders Andersen at First Lutheran Church in Buffalo on August 10, 1952. They had five children, Angie, Kevin, Kristy, Kyle, and Kerry. They farmed and ranched northwest of Lexington. Paul preceded her in death on November 24, 2007, after 55 years of marriage. Ann was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Cozad. She was a former member of the church council, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday school superintendent. She was the chairperson for the annual fall church supper for many years. She was a strong supporter of her children’s 4-H activities. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, playing cards, sewing, and family gatherings. She also enjoyed spending many hours watching her grandchildren’s activities. One of her joys was helping with the Christmas programs at District #44R. Ann is survived by her children, Angie (Rodney) Sall of Lexington, Nebraska, Kristy (John) Toy of Waverly, Nebraska, and Kerry (Susan) Andersen of Sachse, Texas; daughter-in-law, Paula Andersen of Elkhorn, Nebraska; nine grandchildren: Blake (Crystal) Sall, Brett (Brittany) Sall, Andrea (Thomas) Cone, Aaron (Annie) Andersen, Andrew Toy, Abigail Layne Hamilton, Parker Hamilton, Abagail Grace Andersen, and Claire Ann Andersen; five great-grandchildren, Shank Sall, Shad Sall, Shayden Sall, Thomas Cone, V, and Reid Andersen; one brother-in-law, Sid (Marlene) Andersen; two sisters, Patty Newell of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Becky (Don Mican) Kopf of Overland Park, Kansas; and one brother, Danny (Jo) Kopf of Lexington, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Millicent Kopf, her husband Paul, two stepsisters-in-law Evelyn Buswell and Helen Demyanovich, infant son Kyle, and son Kevin. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church northwest of Lexington with Kathy Gundell, PMA officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, October 14, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington.
