Robert Allen “Bob” Reil, 66, of Overton, Nebraska, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at his home in Overton.
He was born October 13, 1949, in Milford, Nebraska, to Herman and Stella (Zimmerman) Reil. He was a 1967 graduate of Milford High School. Bob was united in marriage to Cheryl Brown on November 26, 1978, in Milford. Three children were blessed to this marriage, Tina, Sally, and Jeff.
The family moved to the Overton area in 1995, from Hickman. While in Hickman, Bob worked for Branker Buick from 1968 to 1995. He then went to work for Plum Creek Motors in 1995 as their Parts Manager. He retired in 2012.
You could say Bob was a Jack of all Trades, he could fix anything! He was also a “GM” man. He enjoyed building birdhouses, bird watching, stock car racing, Nascar, Dale Earnhardt was his favorite driver, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, playing cards, and bowling.
Bob had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed being with his family, especially the grandkids, and never knew a stranger. He will be so very missed.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Reil of Overton, Nebraska; children, Jeff (Mickell) Reil of Overton, Nebraska, Sally (Matt) Ourada of Thornton, Colorado, and Tina (Shaun) Reil-Lux of Lexington, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Mickailee Reil, Brynlee Reil, Matthew Cisneros, Camryn Ourada, Tyson Reil, Lexi Reil, Kaden Lux, and Cooper Lux; sister, Mary Meyer of Seward, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Joyce Reil of Elwood, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Dee (Kendall) Eggers of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Dale (Jackie) Rogers of Stamps, Arkansas, Sandra Smith of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jodie Powell of Dallas, Texas, Charla Albritton of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Lucy (Paul) King of Dallas, Texas; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Erv Reil; brother-in-law, Warren Meyer; and, sister-in-law, Deb Cook; nephew, Troy Reil; and, niece Lisa Meyer.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 17, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Daniel Sauer officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
It was Bob’s wishes that his body be cremated following the funeral service. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
