Margaret Phyllis Knoop, 86, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
She was born June 28, 1922, at David City, Nebraska, Butler County, to William H. and Tillie (Jindra) Bose. In March 1936 the family moved to a farm in Valley County, Nebraska, near Arcadia. Phyllis received her elementary education in Butler County schools and graduated from Arcadia High School with the class of 1940.
Margaret Phyllis spent several years on the farm helping her parents until they sold out in 1962, and moved to Ansley, Nebraska.
Phyllis worked at Becton Dickinson in Broken Bow for 4 ½ years and then married Ervin Knoop on August 16, 1967 at First Lutheran Church at Buffalo.
She was baptized on December 18, 1966 in the First Baptist Church in Ansley and later confirmed in the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo on December 20, 1967.
Phyllis enjoyed gardening, handiwork, visiting with family and friends, attending church services and helping wherever needed. She moved to Park Avenue Estates in Lexington where she lived until her death.
She was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo as well as the L.W.M.L.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ervin on May 27, 1995.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church at Buffalo with Vicar Victor Rasmussen officiating.
Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery next to the church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 3-5 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
