William A. Chamberlin, 71, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Lexington Regional Health Center.
He was born October 30, 1944, in Evanston, Illinois, to Clarence Albert and Elizabeth (Newenham) Chamberlin. Bill grew up in Illinois and graduated from Blue Island High School in Blue Island, Illinois. He then went on to further his education, and graduate from Northwestern University.
Bill was an active duty Army Reservist from 1968 to 1973. He was united in marriage to Carol Schradzke on June 11, 1972, in the Chicago area. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Linda and Raymond. He worked as an Insurance Agent as a younger man.
In 1994, the couple settled in Lexington. He worked odd jobs until his retirement. He loved photography, gardening, and reading. He enjoyed bowling, and bowled on two or three leagues each week. He also loved spending time with his four-legged baby, Juliet.
Bill was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Bill is survived by his son, Ray and wife Karm Chamberlin of Cozad, Nebraska; two stepsons, Jeff Stillwell of Salem, Oregon, and Ken Stillwell of Vancouver, Washington; two grandchildren, Gordon Waltermire of Cozad, Nebraska, and Bonnie Waltermire of Cozad, Nebraska; one great-granddaughter, Skyler; also surviving are several cousins in Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and infant daughter, Linda.
The family has honored Bill’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
