RoseMary Sherman, 64, of Overton, Nebraska, died peacefully with her loving family surrounding her on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at her home.
She was born December 24, 1944, at Grand Island, Nebraska to Donald E. and Donna (Hackbart) O’Brien. RoseMary attended Hall County district #35, St. Agnes Academy in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School with the class of 1964. She then went on to attend Mary Crest Convent in Colorado in 1965.
RoseMary was united in marriage to Frank Sherman on January 6, 1968, at Shelton, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this union; Michelle, Melinda and Matthew.
She and Frank raised their family in rural Overton where RoseMary loved to do yard work and raise beautiful flowers. She loved to fish, can, travel, deer hunt, but, most especially enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.
RoseMary was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton.

Two daughters: Michelle Sherman of Omaha, Nebraska & Melinda (Steve) Nelson of St. Edward, Nebraska
One son: Matthew (Cindy) Sherman of Independence, Kansas
Three brothers: Dennis & Judy O’Brien of Shelton, Nebraska , Doug O’Brien of Minden, Ne. ; Danny & Kelly O’Brien of Grand Island, Nebraska
Five sisters: Kathy & Myron Manning of Sod town, Nebraska; Edie & Lonnie Mattison of Amherst, Nebraska; Joan & Dan O’Brien of Beaver Lake, Nebraska; Rachelle & Reggie Zulkoski of Seattle, Washington; Donna & Karl Bruner of Shelton, Nebraska
Three grandchildren: Clare Davidson-Sherman of Omaha, Nebraska; Wyatt & Myranda Nelson of St. Edward, Nebraska
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
RoseMary was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret O’Brien and two brothers, Michael O’Brien and Donald O’Brien, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton, Nebraska with Reverend Paul Colling and Reverend John Craig officiating. The Casket will be closed at the Mass.
Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery at Overton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2009, from 4-6 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton with Rosary at 6:00 p.m. also at the church.
