Leroy Aaron Brown

Leroy Aaron Brown, 45, of Lakeland, Florida, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland. He was born May 26, 1963, at Torrington, Wyoming, to Richard A. and Phyllis A. (Seachord) Brown. Leroy was the youngest of five children blessed to this union. He moved with his family to Lexington when he was 11 months of age. He grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1981. While in school Leroy participated in both cub scouts and boy scouts and the summer baseball programs. He was also the student manager for several sports during Jr. High and high school. He attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska for a time and returned to Lexington where he worked at Godfathers Pizza, Dan’s Sanitation, Karre City bakery and several other jobs prior to moving to Florida. Leroy moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1998, where he attended Florida Metropolitan University for 2 years, graduating with honors, and was the first male to graduate out of the program, as a medical assistant. He has worked the past six years at Watson Clinic in Lakeland in the Urology Department. While working at the clinic he met his future bride, Maria, and the couple were later married in December 23, 2006, in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the home of his mother. Leroy was devoted to his family and his career and will be so very missed. Survivors include his wife: Maria Brown of Lakeland, Florida His mother: Phyllis Hendrix of Council Bluffs, Iowa His children: Justin, Kayla & Courtney all of Lakeland, Florida Two brothers: Tony (Cindy) Brown of Norfolk, Nebraska Andy (Cheryl) Brown of Sydney, Australia Two sisters: Melody (Billy Ray) Prothro of Shrevesport, Louisiana Ellerine Rodriguez of Council Bluffs, Iowa 8 nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and many, many friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, both sets of grandparents and one aunt. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 4-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
