Dianna L. “Dee” Fay, 63, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the Callaway District Hospital.
She was born February 17, 1952, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Verlin and Marian (Poppen) Goforth. Dee was a 1970, graduate of Grand Island Senior High in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Bernard Fay on August 10, 1978, in North Platte, Nebraska. Bernard preceded her in death on November 20, 2005.
Dee and Bernard lived several places after their marriage; such as, Douglas, Wyoming, Cody, Nebraska, and settling in Callaway in 1994. She went to work for the Callaway Public School System as a Para-Educator, a job she absolutely loved, because she adored working with the children for nearly 20 years.
She also enjoyed bowling, reading, crocheting, camping, and attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1991, which unfortunately made her slow down a bit. Dee was a member of Callaway Community Church.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather; Marian (Woody) Sheffield of North Platte, Nebraska; son, Jared “Jerry” Fay of Callaway, Nebraska; daughters, Karla (Timothy) Potter of Callaway, Nebraska, and Amy Kratzer of Callaway, Nebraska; stepson, Dale Butler of Bellevue, Nebraska; stepdaughter, Lisa (Wayne) Randall of Flowermound, Texas; siblings; Verlin “David” Goforth of North Platte, Nebraska, Justin (Cindy) Goforth of North Platte, Nebraska, Mark (Vicki) Goforth of North Platte, Nebraska, Ed (Sharon) Goforth of Grand Island, Nebraska, Stuart Goforth of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kevin (Kathy) Goforth of Greeley, Colorado, Roger Sheffield of New Castle, Colorado, and Barbara (Dick) Royce of Cheyenne, Wyoming; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Dee was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by her father; and stepson, Rick Butler.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Callaway Community Church with Pastor Dean Haidle officiating.
Burial will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway.
