Mary Ellen Sikyta, 78, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh.
She was born May 6, 1930, at Plattsmouth, Nebraska, to Simon Franklin and Gladys Marie (Sheldon) Denson.
Mary attended school in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She worked for the Campbell Soup Company in Tecumseh for 26 years, Artistic Labels in Holdrege, Nebraska, and then volunteered as a Green Thumb Worker in Dawson County for several years. She returned to Tecumseh in 2003, to be closer to her family.
Mary loved to travel, was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: Terry & Lois Kage of Tecumseh, Nebraska
Gary & Princess Hesterman of Shubert, Nebraska
One brother: Charles “Bill” & Alice Denson of Kearney, Nebraska
Three sisters: Mildred Williams of Meridian, Idaho
Joyce Shatters of Kearney, Nebraska
Colleen & Bob Dolan of Overton, Nebraska
One sister-in-law: Mickey Denson of Kearney, Nebraska
Six grandchildren: Audra Parrish, Clint Kage, Eric, Adam, Dee, & Gina Hesterman, and numerous great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February, 27, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Dean Pofahl, officiating.
Burial will be in the Overton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
