Linda Elaine Nelsen, 63, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Lexington. Linda was born October 11, 1951, in Holdrege, Nebraska, to Robert E. and Harriet H. (Nelson) Yost. She was a 1969 graduate of Elwood High School and continued her education at the University of Nebraska earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She substitute taught for a several years. She was united in marriage to Steve Adams in the early 1970’s. Two children were born to this marriage; Sara and Gus. The marriage later ended in divorce, and Linda found true love and married Leonard “Lenny” Nelsen in December of 2013, in Elwood. She welcomed Lenny’s family as her own. Linda held several jobs throughout the years; she was the manager and lifeguard for the Elwood Pool when the new pool was built. She moved to Lexington in 1983, where she worked at Uncle Neal’s, Goodyear, IBP, and was presently working at Landmark Implement at the time of her death. She had been at John Deere/Landmark since 1995. Linda was a kind-hearted gal, who would give the shirt off her back to help someone else. She enjoyed playing Candy Crush on her computer, visiting with friends and working in her yard. Her family was her life. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Sara (Leo) Gil of Lexington, Nebraska, son, Gus Adams and Dawn Bourbon of Kearney, Nebraska; mother, Harriet Yost of Elwood, Nebraska; grandchildren, Camron, Michael, Sasha, and Liliana Gil all of Lexington; all the members of Lenny’s family, her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Robert, and husband, Lenny. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Friday September 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Darin Corder officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
