Wayne M. Schultz, 69, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Callaway District Hospital.
Wayne was born August 15, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael Charles and Bernadette (Powell) Schultz. As a teenager, Wayne’s family moved to Omaha.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Berck on July 17, 1971, in Omaha. Four children were blessed to this marriage, Julie, Teri, Kimberly & Michael.
Wayne was in the grocery business all of his life. Wayne and Patricia purchased the Callaway Market in 1971, which he still ran to this day.
He enjoyed reading, playing bridge, water and snow skiing and running. He was always active, busy and an extremely hard worker. His family was his pride and joy. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Wayne was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Schultz of Callaway, Nebraska; one son, Michael and wife Jennifer Schultz of Rogers, Arkansas; three daughters, Julie and husband Gary Self of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Teri and husband Robert Armbruster of Omaha, Nebraska and Kimberly Schultz of Omaha, Nebraska; ten grandchildren, Michael, Payton, Meredeth, Madeline, Miranda, Jacob, Haley, Cody, Gabrielle and Zachary; his mother, Bernadette Schultz of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers, Michael and wife Deborah Schultz of Yutan, Nebraska, and Paul and wife Suzie Schultz of Audubon, Iowa; one sister, Lynn and husband Tony Cook of Omaha, Nebraska; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Michael C. Schultz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 4, 2015, at l0:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway, Nebraska with Reverend Thomas Gudipalli celebrating.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 7:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway.
A Memorial has been established.
