Mary A. Walker

Mary A. Walker, 80, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Elwood Care Center. Mary was born October 23, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Martin and Ruby (Thomas) Sandefur. She attended school in Lawrence, Indiana and graduated from Lawrence High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Pirnie. Five children were blessed to this marriage; William, Robert, James, Martin & Susan. When they were married, Robert was a military serviceman and they traveled the world. They would later divorce. Mary lived in various places from Arnold, Cozad and eventually settling in Lexington, Nebraska in 1982. On June 14, 1982, Mary was united in marriage to Gerald Walker in Lexington. Mary enjoyed traveling with Jerry on his truck. She loved to take the grandkids to A&D restaurant for breakfast where she would hear about their week. She enjoyed being with the family and family get-togethers. Mary had many hobbies which included crossword puzzles, knitting, shopping and was a very good cook. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly Of God Church in Lexington and was very active in the church. Survivors include her husband Gerald Walker of Lexington, Nebraska, four sons, William (Carla) Pirnie of LaJanta, Colorado, Robert (Anita) Pirnie of Oshkosh, Nebraska, James “Dan” Pirnie of Lexington, Nebraska & Martin (Michelle) Pirnie of North Platte, Nebraska, one daughter, Susan Craig of Rapid City, South Dakota, one sister, Margie Davis of Goshen, Indiana, thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Preceding Mary in death were her parents; brothers, Martin & Eugene; sisters, Birdie & Lois; daughter-in-law, Kelly Pirnie; and son-in-law, Shane Craig. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
