Traci Dee Amend

Traci Dee (Bailey) Amend, 42, of Milliken, Colorado, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015, at her home in Milliken. Traci was born May 15, 1973, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of William A. and Marilyn A. (Kreutzer) Bailey. She grew up in Lexington, Nebraska where she attended grade school, junior high, and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1991. She was active in various activities throughout her high school career, but excelled in running Hurdles. She held the record at LHS for many years. She was united in marriage to Bryon Amend on October 5, 1993, in Las Vegas. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Jalen, Broedy, Keira and Arianna. Traci had a love for animals and trained as a dog groomer. She owned and operated her own grooming business, Best Friends Boutique in Lexington for several years. She loved her “furry customers” and treated each as her own. In August of 2013, the family moved to Colorado from Bertrand, Nebraska. Upon settling in Milliken, Colorado, she continued her love of grooming until her death. Traci was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She absolutely loved going to the cabin at Jeffrey Lake, being in the mountains, gardening, landscaping, painting (anything she came in contact with), quarter horses, coyote hunting, and; of course, her four-legged friends. Actually, Traci was the type of person who could do just about anything she put her mind to. She had a close circle of friends who were like sisters to her. She would come home to visit, or they would go to Colorado, but they always stayed in touch. She was baptized, confirmed and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington. An excerpt from the poem in her funeral folder reads, “You blessed our lives with happiness. Taught us love we’d never known. How we wish you could have stayed, but you were just on loan”. Rest peacefully our friend, until we meet again. Traci is survived by her husband; Bryon of Milliken, Colorado; four children, Jalen Amend of Holdrege, Nebraska, Broedy, Keira, and Arianna Amend of Milliken, Colorado; parents; Bill & Marilyn Bailey of Lexington, Nebraska; brothers, Mike (Debra) Bailey of West Point, Nebraska, and Troy (Kami) Bailey of Lexington, Nebraska; father-in-law; John (Nancy) Amend of Omaha, Nebraska; mother-in-law, Winnie (Larry) Reicks of Elm Creek, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Traci was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vern & Esther Bailey and Emil & Bertha Kreutzer. Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, August 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Josh Stibb officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington.
