Froilan Torres Varela, 51, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington.
He was born September 18, 1957, at Penjamo, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Marciano Torres Tapia and Maria Dolores Varela.
Froilan was united in marriage to Sofia Leon on May 5, 1984, in Mexico. The family moved to the United States approximately 17 years ago and then made Lexington their home for the past 8 years.
Froilan worked for Tyson Fresh Meats in the Processing Department.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time at home, gardening and being with his family.

Four grandchildren: Andrea, Esmeralda, Jasmin and Alonzo
Froilan was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, from 1-6 p.m. with Wake at 6:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the Family.
Froilan’s body will then be cremated following the funeral service and inurnment will take place at a later date in Mexico.
