Donald Wayne Kuck, 62, of Smithfield, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his home in Smithfield.
He was born December 30, 1952, in McCook, Nebraska, to Alfred H. and Marie A. (Wilcox) Kuck.
Don attended District #14 rural school south of Smithfield through the 7th grade and in 1967, transferred to Bertrand Community School and graduated in 1971. He then attended Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska where he studied Diesel Mechanics. He was united in marriage to Lori Franzen on June 29, 1974, at Hope Lutheran Church in Bertrand. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Kelli Ann, Eric Donald, and Andrew Wayne. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Don’s working career was spent farming, working for CO-OP, the City of Elwood and the Gosper County Weed Department.
His hobbies included; fishing, hunting, watching movies, cooking, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His greatest love was being with family, especially his grandchildren, and having get-togethers at Green Acres.
Survivors include his parents, Al & Marie Kuck of Smithfield, Nebraska; daughter, Kelli and husband Josh Marshall and their children, Ashlyn, Preston, and Aviana of Lincoln, Nebraska; sons, Eric Kuck and his son, Kyler of Omaha, Nebraska, and, Andrew Kuck and his sons, Wilson & Clayton of Smithfield, Nebraska; brother, Jerry Kuck of Elwood, Nebraska; sister, Ann and husband Scott Johnson of Elwood, Nebraska; also, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding Don in death were his twin brother, Ronald; grandparents, Charles & Bessie Wilcox and Herman & Gladys Kuck.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Bertrand, Nebraska with Pastor Darrel Wissmann officiating.
Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery at Elwood.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Bertrand.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
