Roy J. Branstiter, 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his home in Lexington. He was born July 13, 1927, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Claude M. and Pearl (Casey) Branstiter. Roy attended school in Broken Bow. It was after his schooling that Roy moved with Virgil and his parents to Lexington. Through the years Roy worked at Nixon Feeds, Cornland Dressed Beef, IBP, Tyson, and finished his career with Nebraska Game & Parks. Roy enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, enjoying life and having fun. He loved playing baseball for the Roundhill Ramblers and farming with his dad. He was with his companion for 30 years, Moni Robinson. Roy was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include his companion, Moni Robinson of Lexington, Nebraska, son, Danny (Oletta) Branstiter of Fort Worth, Texas, daughter, Verla (Bruce) Montey of Cozad, Nebraska, brother, Virgil Branstiter of Lexington, Nebraska, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, Moni’s son, Joseph Robinson of Lexington, Nebraska; also surviving at nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Loy, sister, Verla, sister-in-law, Pat, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Daniel Sauer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. It was Roy’s wishes his body be cremated following the service. Inurnment will be Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.
