Lonna Kathleen Blath

Lonna Kathleen (Dukes) Blath, 66, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington. Kathy was born November 30, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Wilson S. and Gladys (Rhoades) Dukes. Kathy attended school in Central City, Nebraska and later earned her GED. She worked for Western Electric in Omaha. She then moved to Grand Island and attended Cosmetology School. Kathy returned to Omaha where she was a beautician at Westroads Mall. In the early 1970’s, Kathy moved back to Central City. She attended Nursing School in Columbus, and worked as a nurse in the Veterans Home in Grand Island for over 10 years. Kathy moved to Lexington, Nebraska in 2003, to be closer to her brother Wilson. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching old movies, and was an avid reader. Survivors include her daughter: Michelle and husband Scott Nichols of Grand Island, Nebraska. Two grandchildren: Harley Edwardson of Minot, North Dakota, and Courtney Murphy of Grand Island, Nebraska. One Brother: Wilson and wife Judy Dukes of Lexington, Nebraska. One Sister: Deb and husband Larry Johnston of Chapman, Nebraska. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Matt. The family honored Kathy’s wishes for cremation. A Private Graveside service will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
