Phillip R. “Phil” Pebley, 79, of rural Cozad, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015, at his home.
Phil was born March 16, 1936, in rural Cozad, Nebraska, to Tom and Kristina (Smidt) Pebley. Phil was a 1954 graduate of Cozad High School. He lived and farmed his entire life on the home place.
He was united in marriage to Bernice Biehl on December 29, 1957, at the Presbyterian Church in Lexington. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage; Kristi and Lisa.
Phil was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. He served on the rural District #18 School Board, on the Grace Cemetery Board and the Clippership Group.
He enjoyed visiting Lisa’s Daycare kids and would bring donuts for their enjoyment. He was their surrogate grandpa. He always had a big garden, loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and collected toy semi-trucks.
He was quite the “people” person and enjoyed visiting and teasing. The couple also enjoyed attending the dances at Miller. But, most notable, was his love for his daughters. He will be so very missed.
Survivors include his wife; Bernice Pebley of Cozad, Nebraska; daughters, Kristi and Lisa Pebley of Lexington, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents and brother, LeRoyce.
