Bob L. Dolan, 76, of Gibbon, Nebraska, former Overton resident, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, at CHI Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Bob was born March 6, 1939, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Earl and Genevieve (Willets) Dolan. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1958. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1961, and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was honorably discharged in 1964. On January 21, 1966, he was united in marriage to Colleen Denson in Overton, Nebraska. To this union three children were born; Christi, Mark, and Chad. He was the produce manager at Safeway in Lexington and then was transferred to Kearney. Over the years he worked at various jobs; including, Sperry New Holland. In 1989, he began working as the head custodian at Overton Public Schools, retiring in 2001. Bob’s main interests were his grandkids, Mark and Chad’s racing, and his tractors. He had a heart of gold, and would give the shirt off his back for anyone. Bob had a great sense of humor, enjoyed a good story, and will be so very missed. He was a member of the Overton American Legion and Overton Christian Church, where he served as Deacon. Survivors include his wife of 49 years; Colleen Dolan of Gibbon, Nebraska; son, Chad and wife Jamie Dolan of Gibbon, Nebraska, Daughter, Christi Snider and fiancé David Sines of Terra Alta, West Virginia, daughter-in-law, Amy Dolan of Overton, Nebraska, three grandchildren, Kati Snider of Kearney, Nebraska, Matt and Mitch Dolan both of Overton, Nebraska; sister, Georgia Peden of Humansville, Missouri; extended family and many friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Dolan; brother, Donald Dolan, and sisters, Janet and Earline, and his beloved poodle, Sassy. It was Bob’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation. Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Reverends Cathy Cole and Will Thompson officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Overton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
