Jane Snider

P. Jane Snider, 85, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington. Jane was born August 12, 1929, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Eldon T. and Esther E. (Kirkpatrick) Hanna. She was a 1947 graduate of Lexington High School. She was married to Floyd Snider on June 17, 1949, in Lexington, Nebraska. Two children were blessed to this marriage; John and Janie. The couple lived in Elm Creek for a time and settled in Lexington in 1974. Jane was a member of First United Methodist Church and Platte Homemakers Extension Club. She loved crocheting, was a beautiful seamstress, and enjoyed growing flowers. Jane was also a wonderful cook and for years, because of her love for kids, grew a huge pumpkin patch so the District #15 kids could come pick out their Halloween pumpkins. Her favorite memories were of times spent with family during family gatherings. Jane is survived by one son, John (Patti Dryer) Snider of Lexington, Nebraska; daughter, Janie (Larry) Bleach of Bellevue, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Regina (Craig) Howard of Lexington, Nebraska, Stacey (Brian) Snider-Simon of Tucson, Arizona, Larry (Lisa) Snider of Smithfield, Nebraska, Amy (Greg) Kenney of Carson City, Nevada, Jill (Brad) Annis of Gretna, Nebraska, and Brandon Bleach of Reno, Nevada; 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Keith Hanna, and sisters, Jeneice Foster and Doris Hanna. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dyton Owen officiating. Burial will be in the Robb Cemetery south of Lexington. There will be no visitation and casket will be closed at the church. Memorials are suggested to the YMCA Swimming Pool fund in memory of Jane.
