Marie Ann Lauby

Marie Ann Lauby, 56, of Lexington, Nebraska, died suddenly Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. She was born May 20, 1952, at Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Burt and Gladys (Pemperton) Mooney. Marie attended school in Michigan and moved to Lexington in 1974, to be near family. She was united in marriage to Thomas Lauby on April 23, 1976, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. Tom lovingly raised Marie’s two daughters, Shannalee and Holly. She worked for a time at Westside Care Home, Godfather’s Pizza and spent 10 years at McDonald’s Restaurant. Marie was working for the past 15 years at Walmart, her latest position there was Pharmacy clerk and Greeter. Marie enjoyed quilting, belonging to the local Quilt Guild, playing bingo, bowling and painting ceramics. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She also loved having coffee with her girlfriends to discuss Lexington happenings. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband: Thomas Lauby of Lexington, Nebraska Two daughters: Shannalee Ahrens of Lexington, Nebraska Holly Ann Phillips of Katy, Texas One brother: Leroy (Nancy) Mooney of Muir, Michigan One sister: Marian Minsey of Greenville, Michigan Eight grandchildren: Tamina, Josue, Niko, Jose, Luis, Sonni Ray, Rhianna & Ciara. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy and one infant grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. with Wake to follow at 7:00 all at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Family.
