Keith W. Pearson

Keith W. Pearson, 80, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 4, 2008, the result of a car accident south of Albert Lea, Minnesota. He was born February 5, 1928, at Rock County, Wisconsin, to Albin and Alta (Hill) Pearson. He attended school in Wisconsin and served his Country during WWII in the United States Marine Corp. Keith was united in marriage to Marilyn Eich on February 6, 1954, at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, they were the first couple married in the new church. Five children were born to this marriage; Pam, Pat, Keith, Karen and Jacki. Keith was a truck driver for many years. He hauled cattle for Mike Denker, Dennis Biehl and drove for Evan’s Bakery. He hauled explosives, and really, he hauled just about anything through the years. He also worked for Cornland Dressed Beef. He also volunteered his time to the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department from 1967-1978. He enjoyed watching Nebraska football and the Green Bay Packers. He also liked Nascar racing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and also liked visiting with his neighbors and enjoyed going to his morning coffee visits with friends at the Leprechaun, Kirk’s and Uncle Neal’s. Keith will be very missed. He was a great man with a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind and caring husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, neighbor and friend. Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Marilyn Pearson of Lexington, Nebraska Two sons: Keith D. (Heather) Pearson of Cozad, Nebraska Jeremy Pearson of San Diego, California Four daughters: Patricia (Carl) Scheuffele of Lexington, Nebraska Karen Pearson of Cozad, Nebraska Jackie (Bob) Ogg of Pepin, Wisconsin Pam (Jerry) Ward of Paxton, Nebraska One brother: David A. Pearson of Madison, Wisconsin One sister: Marianne (Don) Kennedy of Fort Naples, Florida Thirteen grandchildren: Terri & Kathy Pearson of Cozad, Nebraska; Ed (Barb) Scheuffele of Overton, Nebraska; Cassie Scheuffele of Lexington, Nebraska; Shawn (Sandy) Scheuffele of Minden, Nebraska; Jimmy (Tanya) Pearson and Joseph Pearson all of Cozad, Nebraska; Michael (Patti) Pearson of Wisconsin; Mark (Kelly) Ward of Tryon, Nebraska; Laura (Bill) Osborn of Paxton, Nebraska. Thirteen great-grandchildren: Angel, Lashawn, Harley, Kylea, Axel, Sammie, Carly, Tyson, Tyggert, Mason, Candace, Claire, Zoey and Tanna. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Kathleen; stepson, John R. E ich; granddaughter, Tricia A. Scheuffele and in-laws, John and Harriet Eich. Services will be Thursday, December 11, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Todd Karges officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Evergreen Cemetery east of Lexington. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2008, from 4-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
