Debra E. Franklin, 51, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Monday, December 1, 2008, following a brain aneurysm Sunday, November 30th. She passed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Deb’s brother was very sick and in need of a kidney transplant and Deb was able to give the gift of life to her brother through organ donation.
She was born January 19, 1957, at Casper, Wyoming, to George Harold and Mary (Schmidt) Franklin. She grew up and attended school at Casper and graduated from Natrona High School in 1975.
Deb moved to Cozad, Nebraska in the middle 1980’s and went to work for Southview Manor Care Home in the dietary department. She then moved to Lexington where she went to work for Park Avenue Estates in the dietary department.
She loved Nascar racing, gambling and being with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and being with her Park Avenue family. Deb, and the love of her life of 17 years, Lenny, always attended Comstock Rock, an event she looked forward to each year. She will be so very missed.

Lenny’s daughters: Kyla and Jennifer Nelsen of Kearney, Nebraska
Five brothers: Dan & Susan Franklin; David & Linda Franklin; Gary & Paula Franklin; Ron Franklin and John Franklin all of Casper, Wyoming
One sister: Linda Harshfield of Casper, Wyoming
Three grandchildren: Nick Arbogast of Shelton, Nebraska; Ashley Gonzalez and Jonathan Oyler of Lexington, Nebraska
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Deb was preceded in death by her father in 1963; her daughter, Sandy in 2000, and her brother, Mike in 1993.
The family has honored Deb’s wishes that her body be cremated.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 5, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lexington Christian Church with Pastor Kyron C. BeDunnah officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington.
There will be no visitation.
