Dolores C. Fellenz, 88, longtime Lexington resident, died a peaceful death on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Beauvois Manor Nursing Home in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born December 1, 1919, in St. Louis, to Raymond E. and Alice C. Hibbert.
Mrs. Fellenz moved to Lexington in the early 1970’s with her husband, William B. Fellenz, who was raised in Lexington.
Dolores was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Meadowlark Garden Club, the Rose Society and the Kennsington Club. She considered Lexington her home and some of the residents her “Nebraska family” and a select few her “Nebraska daughters”.
She returned to St. Louis several years ago and had been a resident at Beauvois Manor Nursing Home for the past two years. She was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by many.
Survivors include one daughter: Debbie Fellenz of St. Louis, Missouri
A son: William R. Fellenz of St. Louis, Missouri
A grandson: Shasha (Alex) Fellenz of St. Louis, Missouri
A granddaughter: Gina Fellenz and her daughter of Steelville, Missouri
A sister-in-law: Madeline Weiner of St. Petersburg, Florida
Local cousins: Ronald and Mona Longly of Lexington, Nebraska
She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Fellenz.
The family has honored Dolores’s wishes by donating her body for medical research.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Paul Colling officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the ALS Association.
