Sarah M. Roberts, 86, of Eddyville, Nebraska, died Sunday, November 30, 2008, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.
She was born January 29, 1922, at Eddyville, Nebraska, to John and Bertha (Carr) Warner. Sarah grew up around in the Eddyville area, lived for a time at Lexington and returned to Eddyville. She attended country school west of Eddyville and then attended Lexington High School.
Sarah was united in marriage to Harold Wiley on May 14, 1940, at Norton, Kansas. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Wesley, Sandra and Barbara. Harold preceded her in death on October 8, 1976. She was then united in marriage to Junior Roberts on November 12, 1977, at Eddyville.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Eddyville and was always very active in the church and held several church offices.
Sarah’s family meant the world to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and spent hours making special afghans for each member of her family. She loved to dance and played several instruments by ear, never learning how to read music. She was a wonderful cook and her family will always cherish the memories of those family dinners and treats so lovingly prepared.
Sarah was afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease and although Sarah could not remember the special times during her life, her family will always remember.

Ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Five sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Warner of Lexington, Nebraska

Elsie Farley of Greeley, Colorado
Mary Ann & Doug Fredericks of Kimball, Nebraska
Dorothy & Herb Eckes of Greeley, Colorado
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sarah was preceded in death, besides by her first husband, by her parents; three brothers, Bert, Clarence and Elmer Warner and one sister, Sadie Iburg.
The family has chosen cremation and there will be no public viewing.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 5, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eddyville Community Center in Eddyville, Nebraska with Reverend Doug Jones officiating.
Inurnment will be held at a later time in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
