Marylee Leona Olson

Marylee L. Olson, 62, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at her home near Lexington, with her loving family and close friends surrounding her. She was born July 10, 1946, in Seward County, Nebraska, to Milton and Wanda (West) Winkelmann. Marylee grew up in Seward County where she attended Seward County country school and graduated from Utica High School with the class of 1964. She then went on to further her education at Bryan School of Nursing in Lincoln. Marylee obtained her Real Estate and Broker’s License and worked for Century 21 in Holdrege for several years. She was united in marriage to Dwayne Olson on November 24, 1976, at Holdrege, Nebraska. In 1988, the couple moved to Johnson Lake. Marylee was Branch Manager and Sr. loan officer for American Charter Bank in Lexington. Dwayne and Marylee moved to Lexington in 1998. In 2001, she went in to partnership with Lynne Haines in their own office in association with Charter West of Nebraska. She had a joy for life and enjoyed fishing, reading, and traveling. Marylee so loved her family and her grandchildren and enjoyed her Friday lunches and spending time with her girlfriends. Marylee was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the National, State and Local Board of Realtors, on the State Professional Standards Committee, the Honor Society and Realtor of the Year, in 1988. Survivors include her husband: Dwayne Olson of Lexington, Nebraska Father: Milton Winkelmann of Seward, Nebraska Son: Trevis (Dana) Minnick of Lincoln, Nebraska Daughters: Tracy (Tim) Thompson of North Platte, Nebraska Teresa (David) Opfer of Holdrege, Nebraska Laurie (Mike) Horn of Holdrege, Nebraska One brother: Robert (Deb) Winkelmann of Springfield, Nebraska One sister: Judy (Jerry) Rhodes of Gresham, Nebraska Nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Marylee was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda and a nephew, Bart Rhodes. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 22, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Michael Gruhn officiating. Graveside Services will be 3:30 p.m. at Stromsburg Cemetery in Stromsburg, Nebraska. Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2008, from 2-7 p.m. with Family present from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to The Lutheran Hour, Our Redeemer Lutheran School in North Platte or Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.
