Betty Nadine Golden, 81, of Minden, Nebraska, died Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born August 13, 1927, at Omaha, Nebraska, to Homer and Etta May (Kelso) Emley.
She was united in marriage to Dwight Golden on April 7, 1945, at Omaha, Nebraska.
Betty and Dwight lived in the Lexington area during the 1960’s and 70’s, where Dwight worked for Cornland Dressed Beef and Betty worked in the dietary department at Westside Care Home. Betty would later earn her Dietary degree. They moved from Lexington in 1978, returning to Woodbine, Iowa, which was Dwight’s home.
After Dwight’s death in 1994, Betty returned to the area, settling in Minden, Nebraska. She worked for various care homes in the communities where they lived, but, retired from Kearney County Hospital in the Dietary department.
Betty enjoyed crocheting, watching wrestling, Court TV, Westerns and horses. But, most especially, she loved being with her family and spending her spare time with her loving companion; Ginger, her dog.
Survivors include three daughters: Diane (Russell) Hills of Haverhill, Massachusetts
Peggy (Bruce) Willson of Minden, Nebraska
Debbie Ballheim of Elkins, West Virginia
Seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwight in 1994; sister, Nelda Golden, and Son-in-law; Donald Ballheim.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Doug Shada from the Cornerstone Berean Church in Kearney, Nebraska officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service at Reynolds-Love.
