Marjorie Joan Witthuhn

Marjorie J. Witthuhn, 80, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Marjorie was born February 17, 1934, in Minden, Nebraska, to Clarence and Esther (Stadler) Rodine. Marjorie lived all of her life in Callaway. She attended StopTable district 93 rural grade school and attended Callaway High School. She graduated with the class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Elmo Witthuhn on February 22, 1953, at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Callaway. They resided and farmed on Stop Table. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Kathy, Peggy and Jeffrey. Marjorie was an active member and organized events through the United Methodist Morning Star church, United Methodist Women and Open Door Club. She had the gift of hospitality and her home was open to others. She loved cooking, baking and especially making big family meals. She was known for her homemade ice cream and rolls. She loved embroidering, gardening, especially her roses. Marjorie enjoyed playing cards, especially “Shanghi” when family and friends came over. Her children and grandchildren were her life and she will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband; Elmo Witthuhn of Callaway, Nebraska; one son, Jeffrey (Nicole) Witthuhn of Callaway, Nebraska; two daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Hickenbottom of Kearney, Nebraska and Peggy Roh of Plano, Texas; eleven grandchildren; Carolyn and husband Jeremy Gumaer, Timothy and wife Jennifer Hickenbottom, Christopher Burns, Crystal and husband Jacob Schuman, Erin and husband Anthony Ciapponi, David Roh, Atayla, Keeley, Atlynn, Kelynn and Kaygan Witthuhn, special exchange student, Ikumi and husband Jared Eichelberger; six great-grandchildren; Jayde & Andrea Gumaer, Callen & Parker Hickenbottom, Sebastien & Riley Schuman; brother, Gene Rodine of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Witthuhn of Nebraska, Audrey Witthuhn of Washington; and, Betty Witthuhn of South Carolina; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, June and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Callaway, Nebraska with Pastor Andrew Black officiating. Burial will be in Stop Table Cemetery near Callaway. Visitation will be held Friday, December 26, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway. Memorials are suggested to Callaway District Hospital, Callaway Good Life Center or the Donor’s Choice. Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway is in charge of arrangements.
