Darlene G. Warner, 90, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014, at her home in Lexington.
Darlene was born April 17, 1924, in Oconto, Nebraska, to Larry and Susie (Wells) Beck. She grew up in Oconto and was a 1942 graduate of Oconto High School. She married Arnold Duschanek and three children were born to this marriage; Barry, Diann and Dennis. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Darlene moved to Lexington in the 1950’s. She went to work at Lexington Community Hospital as a Ward Clerk in 1963. When Tri-County Hospital was built and opened in 1976, Darlene moved too, she retired in 1988.
She made her home at Eastlawn for the past several years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church as well as the Eagles Auxiliary.
Darlene enjoyed many hobbies; including, cooking, gardening, playing cards, Bingo, watching birds, sewing, quilting and taking walks. Her greatest joy was when she spent time with her family.
Darlene is survived by two children; Barry Duschanek (Linda Linn) of Lexington, Nebraska; Diann Corbitt of Bertrand, Nebraska; one sister, Evelyn Roe of Midwest City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis; sisters; Ruth Swift and Betty Williams; and, son-in-law, Lawrence Corbitt.
The family has honored Darlene’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Reverend Dr. Dyton Owen officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
