Janice Marlene Duey, 76, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington.
She was born September 7, 1938, in Holdrege, Nebraska, to Melroy and Gwendolyn (Maes) Benton.
She graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Donald Duey on July 29, 1971, in Hastings, Nebraska. Don preceded her in death in 1991.
During Janice’s working years she worked at Platte Valley Recycling and Lexington Laundry and Dry Cleaning.
Janice was a member of the Elwood Christian Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, cooking, baking, playing Yahtzee and Uno. She also loved to visit with people. She will be so very missed.
Survivors include four sons; David and wife Merry Amesbury of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; Timothy and wife Erika Haggart of Chicago, Illinois; and Chris and Michael; two daughters; Denise and husband Kirt Remmington of Black Canyon City, Arizona; and, Dena Trader of Boca Raton, Florida; three sisters; Shirley Lindner of Mesa, Arizona, Deanna Fulmer of Holdrege, Nebraska; and, Connie and husband Stanley Vaughn of Bertrand, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; Brittany, Terry, Laura, Tasha, Faith, Tammy, Elaine, Richard, John and Timothy; five great-grandchildren; Avianna, Skylar, Drayden, Kahlyus, and Trayven; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; son, Ronald; and, granddaughter, Ashley.
Funeral Services will be Friday, November 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Elwood Christian Church in Elwood, Nebraska with Pastor Phyllis Dunlop officiating.
Burial will be in the Elwood Cemetery at Elwood.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
