Donna Jean Waters

Donna J. Waters, 77, of Cozad, Nebraska, former Overton resident, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Cozad. She was born April 21, 1937, in Shelton, Nebraska, to William and Frances (Lundgren) Clifton. She attended the Lutheran school in Kearney. She met the love of her life, Kermit, at a rodeo in Ogallala. The couple married July 17, 1959. They lived in Minden and Overton. She worked at Plectron while living in Overton for 15 years. After Plectron closed, she moved to Sutherland for 10 years. Kermit preceded her in death on December 28, 1994. Her health began to decline and she then moved to Cozad in July of 2014. Donna loved to cross-stitch, shop, play cards, and visit with friends. Christmas was her favorite holiday as she was able to spend it with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include two sons; John Law and (Lenore Clark) of Hildreth, Nebraska; and, Daren Waters and (Molly McClure) of Yutan, Nebraska; one daughter, Stacy and husband Fred Klintworth of Overton, Nebraska; forever daughters-in-law; Kay Richardson of Kearney, Nebraska; and, Laura Waters of Lincoln, Nebraska; one brother, Bob (Jean) Raney of Overton, Nebraska; two sisters; Nancy (Catalino) Vasquez of Sutherland, Nebraska; and, Karen (Doug) Richards of North Platte, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Rachel, Conchita (Andrew), Craig, Tara and Rebecca; three great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Kayden and Paiten; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Donna, in addition to being preceded by her husband, Kermit, was preceded by her parents; brother, Kenneth Clifton and sister, Patricia Rae Clifton. It was the family’s wishes that Donna’s body be cremated. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Thayne Moore, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Overton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
