Theodore “Ted” Schoenrock, 79, of Callaway, Nebraska, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 22, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born August 6, 1929, in Gilead, Nebraska, to John T. and Anna (Goeking) Schoenrock.
Ted married Shirley Ann Hummel on March 4, 1951, at Daykin, Nebraska. Ted and Shirley had five children; James, Pat, Susan, Terri, and John. They lived in many places, but, their home became Callaway in 1983.
Ted served his Country with the Army Military Police in Panama during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
In his life, Ted enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, and spending time with all of his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed being a part of the Callaway community and participating in area activities.

Terri (David) Snodgrass of Reelsville, Indiana
Ten grandchildren: Jeromy (Jenna) Matthies of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Jason Matthies of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jennifer (Jeremy) Rinehart of Lincoln, Nebraska, Christina (J.R.) Pitcock of Mooresville, Indiana, Nicky Snodgrass of Reelsville, Indiana; Aaron, Lincoln, Abigail and Carissa Schoenrock of Rising City, Nebraska, and Kim Nichols of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Five great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. In addition, to their own, Ted and Shirley welcomed numerous foster children into their home as well as “adopted grandchildren” that they took care of over the years.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elfrieda Kleine.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Callaway, Nebraska with Reverend Jerry Schwarz officiating.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway, Nebraska.
A Memorial has been established to the Family for later designation.
