Dawayne Edwin Hagan, 40, of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. His family unselfishly donated his organs and tissue through the Nebraska Organ Retrieval System. He was born September 3, 1973, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Everett “Butch” and Dorothy (Ballheim) Hagan. He attended school at Lexington and received his Building & Maintenance Certificate through the Job Corp. He worked various jobs throughout the area. Dawayne was united in marriage to Charlee Harris on July 12, 1997, in Lexington, Nebraska; two sons and one daughter were blessed to this marriage; Christopher, Dominick, and Breanna. The marriage later ended in divorce and he married Crystal Shearer on July 4, 2007, in Kearney, Nebraska; Dawayne welcomed Crystal’s children, Jenna, Celean, Angel, and, Izzy; the couple had two children of their own, Morgan and Makaila. He also had a love for his four-legged companion, Battle. Dawayne joined the Army National Guard on December 6, 2002, where he served two tours of duty during Iraqi Freedom. He was presently a member of the Nebraska National Guard at the time of his death. His service to our Country will never be forgotten. He enjoyed archery, fishing, hunting and being with the family. He will be so very missed. Survivors include his parents; Butch and Dorothy Hagan of Lexington, Nebraska; his wife, Crystal Hagan of Kearney, Nebraska; children; Christopher and Dominick Hagan of Kearney, Nebraska; Breanna Hagan of Kearney, Nebraska; Jenna Ross of Oshkosh, Nebraska; Celean Lake of Oshkosh, Nebraska; Angel Maldonado of Kearney, Nebraska; Izzy Maldonado of Kearney, Nebraska; Morgan Hagan of Kearney, Nebraska; and, Makaila Hagan of Kearney, Nebraska; sister, Sheila and husband David Mack of Windsor, Colorado; grandmother, Lucille Hagan of Lexington, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Brynlee Ross of Oshkosh, Nebraska; his loving four-legged companion, Battle; and, many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Dawayne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; paternal grandfather; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with CH (CPT) Zach Brueningsen officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska. In Lieu of flowers, please designate memorials to the family for later distribution. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
